Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s Wedding
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank got married on October 12, 2018. The wedding took place at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The wedding took place after a few months when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married at the very same venue. About 800 guests attended the star-studded ceremony. The bride’s royal grandparents- Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were also present at the wedding ceremony. The couple had also invited about 1,200 members of the public from across the country to witness their wedding up-close.
The couple’s engagement was announced by the royal family almost a year before their autumn wedding on Jan 22, 2018. The couple had dated for seven years before getting engaged on their vacation in Nicaragua. Brooksbank in an interview with BBC 1’s Matt Baker shared that he has proposed to Eugenie without a ring as he didn’t want to do anything until Eugenie had signed off on it. He had selected a padparadscha sapphire stone before the proposal and when both of them returned from their vacation, they designed the ring together.
He also said that the timing was perfect as were the surroundings. Eugenie told that the nearby lake was so beautiful and the light was also a special light that she had never seen. She actually said that it was an incredible moment and immediately Brooksbank popped the question. She told it was very surprising even though the couple had been together for seven years.
Eugenie had told Baker that she is over the moon and it was a complete surprise. But she could not have been happier. The couple wanted more than one day to celebrate their almost decade-long love story. Hence they hosted a lavish two–day wedding event. It also included a festival-themed bash.
One week before the wedding day, Eugenie visited Buckingham Place for a pre-wedding meeting to finalize some last-minute details. Both Eugenie and Jack had planned the entire wedding day. The night before the wedding, Eugenie, Brooksbank, and their family were seen arriving at St George Chapel for the wedding rehearsal.
